GOP Gaffes

This article in the New Yorker is a pretty good piece that shows some insight into the collapes of the Republican support base. The majors involved all continually backstab each other and try to deflect blame for the problems that the party faces. They still haven't quite caught on, but they are digging furiously. With the death of Jerry Falwell, many party figures are attempting to fill the void as head of the Religious Right, like Tom DeLay: God has spoken to me. I listen to God, and what I've heard is that I'm supposed to devote myself to rebuilding the conservative base of the Republican Party, and I think we shouldn’t be underestimated... Yikes. Guess who WON"T be getting my vote?
