The Overview of My Views

As I pen (or type) this, this site is approaching 450 posts. This creates a difficult challenge for the new reader - how to determine my particular background and bias. For this reason, I have decided to create and mark a small sub-set of posts, which I believe help to explain my outlook and position on various subjects. I attempted this in my first ever post, Ideological Initiatives, and my answer to What is a Haymarket Prism?, but I feel that a broader canvas would be helpful.

First, I think that one develops their outlook based on what they have seen occur in the past. Therefore, I created 3 posts last year that looked back on 3 historical events that I believe had a great impact on my national and world view. They are available here.

When reading my posts, readers will note that I am hyper-critical of governmental power, and very supportive of the powerless. I explain why For the Record.

I also have my own particular view on various contemporary topics. These include religion, human rights and their current status, the law and judges (in a general sense), the torture debate and the Iraq war, the role of the media in the US, the economy (with emphasis on corporations and outsourcing), politics (especially in election season), and education.
