This article makes me roll my eyes in educated embarrassment for Andy McCarthy. The first 95% of the article is basically factual, with a few Andy-esque embellishments and non-sequitors. When he gets to the "what should we do?" portion, however, he just gets silly:
...insisting that the Palestinian people — not just Abbas and Fatah, but the people — convincingly foreswear revolution, terrorism, violence, ethnic-cleansing, and the goal of eliminating Israel.
Oh OK... make sure the Palestinian people really, really promise not to be violent any more - to "convincingly foreswear". Should they cross their heart and hope to die too, Andy? |
