Fallout at Walter Reed

In my previous posts regarding veteran medical issues, I have neglected a discussion on the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

For those that don't know, Walter Reed Army Medical Center has been under fire due to horribly sub-standard conditions at the facility - the story first broke in the Washignton Post here. In the aftermath, there were many calls for firings and reform. Maj. Gen. George Weightman, the head of Walter Reed, was fired March 1, followed by the resignation of Army Secretary Francis J. Harvey, who will leave his office March 9. This, coupled with promised to right the wrongs of Walter Reed, seem to suffice as appropriate response.

We owe our veterans more than that.
